Our client's ambition is to improve lifestyles and enhance communities by instantly connecting people and businesses beyond today's broadband. We're recruiting a MDU Surveyor to support the next stage of revenue growth from the network.

As a MDU Surveyor, you will be reporting into the MDU Manager. The MDU Surveyor's role is to Survey, design and produce documentation related to the MDU build. This documentation will be used to gain wayleave and for job packs that the installations team will use as guidance.



Some of what you'll be doing:

  • Undertake onsite surveys and design MDU/MBU prior to installations
  • Determine the type of MDU/MBU
  • Produce documentation that will be used for the build and to demonstrate the design to the Leaseholder/owner
  • Producing a bill of quantities and schedule of works
  • Compiling Installation plans and drawing cable routing plans
  • Have asbestos awareness on site
  • Liaising with Leaseholders/owners/contractors
  • Ascertain the external feed to the premise and design new route if required
  • Determining placement of plant and equipment on the building
  • Internal and external stakeholder management


What you'll need to have:

  • A knowledge of building & fire stopping regulations
  • Physically fit to access a variety of buildings to undertake physical surveys
  • Potentially an M&E/FM background
  • Experience of cabling and routing in buildings
  • Experience of fibre infrastructure
  • Experience of the PIA network – desirable, but training will be given
  • Excellent written and verbal skills are required to communicate with people at all levels
  • The ability to work with minimal supervision whilst prioritising and organising a varying workload
  • The ability to utilise a number of computer databases specific to the job as well as various Microsoft office systems
  • Participating in any training and development activities in order to maintain professional development or to enhance competence within job role
  • A high degree of flexibility
